Wirtshaus zum Schutzenhof in Kelsterbach

Picked up schnitzel yesterday evening and they were incredibly delicious and 2 schnitzel per serving. Nicely baked in clarified butter and juicy :) unfortunately we once had french fries instead of spaetzle as ordered and the mushroom cream sauce was a bit bland, but with a little salt and fresh pepper it was wonderful. The cook from whom we picked up the food was really very friendly and there was even a bottle of Fanta for free - we were pleasantly surprised, as we didn't expect it. When I read here that people are complaining about the price, I ask myself, where is your often cited solidarity with the gastronomy? Restaurants live primarily from the sale of drinks, which is currently not the case. Thus it is not possible to sell the food cheaper with the income from drinks than it would have to cost in order to leave something with the host. In addition, the times are simply over when you don't pay 10 € for a schnitzel.

We have always loved to eat there. That is why we wanted to support the tavern even during Corona times and have ordered and picked up food for us. As always, everyone was very nice and the food was delicious, hence 3 stars. However, the food was way too expensive for the small amount we got. The drinks that were given didn't really make up for it. The portions were smaller as usual, packed in environmentally unfriendly packaging (there are alternatives), of course we had to pick them up and still paid a price that was far too high and not in proportion to it. Really a shame, but I prefer to cook myself!

We were in the Schützenhof on a beautiful late summer Sunday and sat outside due to the corona. You sit very nicely under umbrellas on massive wooden benches. The umbrellas not only protect against the sun, but also against attacking chestnuts ☺️. The service was friendly and the food delicious. The yard is well shielded from the street and you can park either on the street or in the (really) small parking lot for max. 6 cars.

Nice courtyard, great lounge. Eat good home-style and the taste is really good. I can recommend it.

Beautiful beer garden with the best schnitzel that I've eaten in ages. The service was also extremely friendly and courteous.

This was, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the top 5 culinary experiences of my life. I had the Argentinian rumpsteak, fried apple slices, and apricot brandy. If a gastronomic orgasm is possible, surely this is it.

A real German restaurant. The food is delicius.. They also have a room for private partys and a cigar lounge.. Super service.. Must for all visiting Germany / Kelsterbach. Hope to be there again very soon

It is very nice and very pleasant to be here. A restaurant with very good food A beer garden with lots of space for families, friends or couples ?. A lounge very very very nicely equipped for cigar lovers or cigarette breaks. And you can stay here for a small fee. Our family likes to go here, we love the food and the company here.

Amazing place to stop, relax and eat, the food came quick and with quality. A great stop if you are riding along the Main river.

Excellent service! Sunday evening so out of a couple things and could not wait the extra time for the pork knuckle. Decided to have the good ol schnitzel. It was perfect! Delicious pepper sauce and I opted for a fried potato with bacon and onion. The little pot of lard for the bread was nice too. Great glass of wine and perfect comfort food. Dinner here had me forget about the crazy day flying. Def recommend.

Good food but very expensive for just German food.

The restaurant is very large and cozy. The food was very tasty. The portions were generous. Price performance and service were good. We recommend.

Very good cuisine and absolutely hospitable service.

We were around 15 people, we ordered in advance. Nevertheless we had to wait a bit, this is maybe because everything is freshly made. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Very nice traditional food. The service was quick and friendly, the food was very tasty. Not a tourist place, many locals. Really enjoyed the visit. They do not take Visa or MasterCard, only Maestro, so plan to bring cash.

I visited Frankfurt by chance to go back to Korea and accidentally visited a restaurant. It felt like a little love room in the neighborhood, but the food and the boss's service is different from other fine restaurants. Did not !! The Asians were only a bit dead because we were the only ones, but I was impressed by how they kept asking me if the food fits their mouth.

The server was amazing! He spoke English and gave us a menu that had English and Spanish translations. He managed the entire full restaurant! He did a great job to help every table in a timely manner. The food was great and largely portioned, we had two types of schnitzel. The cold beer was fantastic! It was a great experience that I highly recommend for out of town visitors.

I love the food, and they have menu in several languages, including Portuguese, only the humor of the attendants who is kind of black, but it is only relieve.

Very good food and friendly service. I had Schnitzel and my buddy had a Grill Pfanne both very good and tasty. The place is only 15 minutes from the airport and accepts all credit cards incl. Amex. The owner seems to be the only one serving and i had to call in him to get more beer and pay. He was very busy however very friendly.

We just stopped for some lunch. They opened promptly at 1130 and seated us right away. Service was good, food was good, and drinks were good. We sat outside in a nice courtyard with a large tree providing shade. The gentleman that served us spoke great English, provided English menus without being asked, and was very friendly. The sauce on the salad was quite good and the salad seemed more fresh than I've gotten at other German restaurants. The schnitzel tasted as you would expect as well as most of the other food items. I'd go back and recommend it!

There is the host very friendly, fast service, the food is cheap and the portions are large. If you do not make the big portions, you can also order smaller ones (Rententerteller).

A Bit tasty

This was a great stop for my long layover! Very comfortable, quiet room, the shower is tiny but the water was hot. And I had my own private balcony. The food is wonderful as well.

The food was delicious, fresh and their portions are good. The decoration of the place is very authentic & the customer service was great!!!!
